Hunt Building Company, Ltd. is a privately owned, full-service development and construction company with headquarters in El Paso, Texas. Founded in 1947, our company has completed projects in 38 states, from Hawaii to Virginia, as well as Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Since 1970, Hunt has focused on the design and construction of military housing through the Department of Defense’s traditional turnkey Military Construction (MILCON) procurement process. In this specialized area, we have built more military housing projects in the United States than any other construction entity.

To date, we have designed and built approximately 40,000 housing units. Of this total, 34,196 units were completed for every branch of the Armed Services through MILCON and other privatized housing projects in 24 states, including Alaska, Hawaii, the District of Columbia, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Hunt has also designed and built over 16,000 units for the following:

• 72 projects for various public housing authorities, totaling 7,334 units.
• 22 projects, totaling 1,612 units owned and managed by Hunt under HUD Section 8 Program.
• 13 projects including 2,676 units developed, constructed, owned, and managed under the current Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program.
• 27 projects totaling 4,490 units built for numerous private sector owners.

In addition to the family housing developments, Hunt has developed, constructed, and currently owns two large, multi-use retail centers:

• Sunland Towne Center in El Paso, Texas.
• Cottonwood Plaza in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
